FAQ

  • The ideal time to visit and hike in Patagonia is when it's winter and spring in the Northern Hemisphere—so summer and fall in the Southern Hemisphere. Our Patagonia trip recommendation is from January to April and from October to December, when the weather is at its friendliest.

  • Not a lot—one of the main reasons why we like to get to know you before planning a trip is to understand your experience and figure out whether to do a customized trip for you. You will mostly have a moderate-level hiking trip, which means you will enjoy your experience more if you have hiked previously.

For the beside the backpacking circuit in Torres del Paine, we have a combination of terrain al level for Torres Del Paine  and Tierra del Fuego portions, we have mostly half-day hikes (3-5 hours per day, covering 4 to 7 miles with minimal elevation gain and loss of 100-300 ft, on relatively easy terrain, carrying only a daypack). During the sailing trip, shore excursions involve short walks (on average 1-2 hours at a time, once or twice per day, with both easy, as well as more challenging options available), as well as exploration by Zodiac (rigid inflatable boats).

For horse riding, we have all types of horses for all types of people. Most of the time though, the terrain and weather dictate where we will be riding.

  • All hotels and lodges have electricity which is 220v and type C and L connectors. Please note that in Torres Del Paine the electricity supply at Cabanas de los Cuernos and Refugio Paine Grande in Torres del Paine is generator-driven and is shut off from midnight to 6:00 am.

  • If you are an experienced hiker and comfortable in the outdoors alone, we can help you arrange your self-guided trip.

  • Yes, you will have an expert local guide with all the certification to guide and also WFR guide.

  • Patagonia's weather is highly unpredictable, with strong winds, rapid changes, and varying temperatures being common occurrences. Summers tend to be relatively mild with longer daylight hours, while winters are harsh, cold, and often accompanied by snow and ice. For hiking and visiting Patagonia, we recommend going between October and April (summer and fall in the Southern Hemisphere).

  • Wi-Fi is regularly available in the hotels in Torres del Paine, as well as most of the cities. However, it won’t always be available on trails or on board boats, so be prepared to be disconnected for longer periods of time.
